Social media may have become compulsive, annoying, and ubiquitous, but it certainly has its uses. There were times when social media and technology in general actually saved lives. Be it because of networks or because of a more direct intervention.

Such an incident helped to underscore the far-reaching impact of social media, which can be useful in critical situations.

Twelve year old Trent Jarett beamed live on Twitter while riding a quad bike.

Do you know which quad is right?

Quad bike

Quad bike is an all terrain vehicle (ATV) used for adventure sports. The longevity of the quad makes it ideal for a ride on any terrain.

At the same time, the person driving the quad needs absolute control over the vehicle, which jumps and lands quite violently. Because of this, the quad may not be for everyone.

Now, 12-year-old Jarrett streamed live himself as he rode his bike. And in the middle of the stream, Trent fell. He was pinned under the bike and couldn’t move

About half a mile away, 13 year old Caden Cotnoir was stunned to see what was going on on his screen. The sudden crash surprised him.

While he was under the vehicle, Trent managed to call a phone number. At that moment, Caden decided that he had to do something to save Trent, who was clearly in pain and unable to move.

Caden called the number and was able to tell Trent’s family what was going on. Things were moving fast and Trent’s family managed to save him from under the quad.

Fortunately, Trent only suffered from minor cuts and bruises.

Caden’s quick action is praised everywhere. His stepfather is the chief of police. According to a report in The Guardian, he described the entire incident as an “Easter miracle”.
