The pandemic has not been friendly to every worker who works from home. Many of them struggle with mental health problems. To give its employees the opportunity to focus on their mental health, Nike gave the employees a week off at headquarters before they returned in September.

This was announced by Nike’s Head of Insights Mark Marazzo on LinkedIn a week ago.

“Take the time to relax, relieve stress and spend time with loved ones,” he said in his announcement to the staff.

Marazzo told Nike employees, “don’t work”. He said the past year was “rough” and everyone had a “traumatic event”.

“It’s not just a ‘week off’ for the team … it’s an affirmation that we can prioritize mental health and still get the job done.” he said in his announcement.

This is not the first time a corporation has told its employees to take it easy. Dating p Bumble had told its staff in June to take a step back in order to focus on themselves.
