Britain begins talks on a trade deal with the Asia-Pacific region while Raab Asean woos with an eye on China




The UK on Tuesday opened negotiations to join a trans-Pacific trade bloc in an effort to explore new opportunities and strengthen its strategic interests in Asia after leaving the European Union. The Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), made up of 11 counties with a combined population of half a billion, came when Foreign Minister Dominic Raab met his counterpart and other Vietnamese officials during his fifth meeting.
