Skoda Octavia front quarterThe Skoda Octavia 2021 is available in two variants – Style and L&K and costs between INR 26-29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Although the price of the new Octavia is clearly outside its comfort zone, Skoda justifies this price with first-class functions and a very high-quality cabin. Step into the new Octy and you will know where your money has gone. When you cover the emblem on the steering wheel, it feels almost as premium as some entry-level German luxury cars. It’s not just the quality and the premium feeling in the interior, Skoda has also generously equipped the new Octavia with many features. Here’s a in-depth look at the features available with each configuration of the Octy.

It must be noted, however, that the new Octavia lacks some key features that are very much expected in this price range. And the biggest flaw in that regard was a sunroof, something that Indians love very much even though it’s not the most suitable for our climatic conditions. To make matters worse, even the Hyundai Elantra is supplied with a single-pane sliding roof. In fact, you can find full panoramic sunroofs in some similarly priced SUVs, or even much cheaper SUVs, and that adds to the lack of it.

The fact is that the Korean duo of Hyundai and The Having pampered buyers with so many features in their cars as standard, any failure by another manufacturer is strongly highlighted. It’s not just about the sunroof, the new Octavia is also missing some other features such as ventilated seats and driving modes. Even a subcompact SUV like the such Kia Sonet gets ventilated seats and that sort of thing Hyundai Crete gets driving modes and traction modes, both models are much cheaper than the Octy.

In terms of design, the interior of the new Octavia is dominated by the floating touchscreen and most buttons have been replaced by touch-based controls. The dashboard has a nice layered design and Skoda’s new two-spoke steering wheel with knurled scroll wheels is also a great highlight of the new Octavia. The Skoda Octavia 2021 is powered by the 2.0-liter TSI engine from the VW Group. This engine is already doing its job on the Skoda Superb and it produces 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It comes exclusively with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
