With the addition of new features across the range, the prices for the Sonet have inevitably increased. Apart from the entry-level 1.2-liter petrol variant, the prices of all other variants of the Soent have risen by at least INR 10,000. The 1.0-liter turbo gasoline variants HTK + iMT and 1.5-liter diesel HTX-MT see the maximum price increase of 30,000 INR. While the entry-level price of the Sonet remains the same, the price has increased by INR 16,000 on the high end.

Variant remodeling

As mentioned earlier, some variants have been discontinued while two more have been introduced. As you can see from the table above, the HTK + petrol DCT and diesel automatic variants have been deleted. Instead, Kia has included new versions of the HTX petrol DCT and HTX diesel automatic in the program. This means you now have to pay an additional Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 to get your hands on an entry-level Sonet automatic.

Shift paddles

One of the biggest updates to the Sonet was the addition of paddle shifters for all automatic variants of the SUV. This means that both the 1.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with the 7-speed DCT and the 1.5-liter diesel with the 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter are now available with paddle switches in all equipment variants – HTX 7DCT , GTX + 7DCT, HTX AT, GTX + BEIM. This should increase the sound of the Sonet significantly, especially for people who want to be more concerned with the driving experience of the subcompact SUV.

New features

Kia has introduced two more features across the product line. The first is sun protection curtains for the back door, added to the HTX, HTX +, GTX + panels. The other is a new opening / closing function of the sunroof via voice commands, which was introduced in the HTX +, GTX + trims. Both functions are segment-first functions, and while they are small additions, they are still valuable in fact.

Other functions are standard across the entire product range

Because of the new features mentioned above, Kia has standardized various functions from standard fairings to lower specification fairings. This includes safety functions such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA) and Hill Start Control (HAC). These features were previously reserved for the GTX + fairings, but have now been made available for the HTX fairings as well. Other functions such as multiple driving modes and traction modes, smart key with start / stop push button, remote-controlled engine start, electric sunroof, chrome-plated door handles and 16-inch light-alloy wheels are also standard equipment. Here is a summary of it.
