Tata Motors is expanding its product range even further and recently launched the new Tata Tiago NRG in the Indian market. It’s a sturdier looking crosshatch based on the facelifted model of the Tiago hatchback that was introduced last year. So what’s different between these two models? Let’s find out.
Outside
The biggest and most prominent change is on the outside. The new Tata Tiago NRG features the same sharper headlights and front grille as the Tiago facelift, but the cross hatch front and rear bumpers have been slightly redesigned to match the car’s more masculine visual sheen. Tata Motors has also added man-made silver skid plates on both ends. The Tiago NRG also has a black body panel in the lower area of the body and on the wheel arches. This gives the vehicle a bolder appearance.
The new Tata Tiago NRG also comes with a darkened roof and door handles. In fact, the D-pillars and ORVMs were also done in black for a more mature look. The artificial roof rails try to improve the overall muscular posture of the vehicle. On the back there is a thick black horizontal decorative strip with the NRG emblem. Tata Motors has also installed new 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Inner
The interior of the new Tata Tiago NRG remains more or less the same as that of the facelifted Tiago hatchback. So you will find most of the familiar features – a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with multiple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Harman sound system, electrically foldable ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, etc.
A few additional features that can be found in the new Tiago NRG are the engine start / stop button and keyless entry. However, the new vehicle dispenses with an automatic climate control.
engine
No changes were made under the hood. The new Tata Tiago NRG uses the same 1.3-liter 3-cylinder NA engine from the facelifted Tiago hatchback. It produces 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque. There is a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit for the gearbox.

The new Tata Tiago NRG is only available in a single full version. The manual transmission variant costs INR 6.57 lakh while the AMT model will set you back by INR 7.09 lakh.
